Category Description

This award is open to any organisation that has developed and maintained an innovative international sustainable programme in a community outside the UK between 2011 and 2016. Extra weight will be awarded to programmes related to the organisation’s core business or to its industry sector.

The award will be given to the most innovative, engaged and successful international community development scheme which must demonstrate how it influenced the community, how many people it impacted as well as the ongoing benefits.

Judges will consider and reward organisations for managing programmes and projects aimed at improving international relations, community services, products and quality of life; including the economical knock-on effect that the programme has created for the local community.

The Judges will specifically be looking for quantified details of projects, outcomes, achievements and the effectiveness of the programme; evidence of the degree of innovation in scoping and developing the initiative and the overall impact of the project; the use of awareness raising to promote the scheme and details of any third party involvement in delivering the programme.

Criteria

Judges will be looking for evidence of the following points within the supplied application form (weighting percentages in brackets):

  1. How the project was scoped and developed to set new standards for innovation and creativity; (20%)
  2. Awareness raising of the project to promote the scheme across the targeted community; (20%)
  3. The measurement of overall impact on community in real terms: whether the scheme positively influenced change in the community resulting in quantifiable impact on individuals; (40%)
  4. How the organisation’s scheme shows long-term commitment to this specific community and the evidence of integrated legacy to show growing benefits; (20%)
